THE FUTURE OF THE PRESENT 2001(2) will consist of has live art presentations created during residencies that will take place from January to December 2001. These works of art will uses the Internet ace to venue in which performance and discussion may take place, and through which avant-garde art is available to world wide audience. Presentations will be created by artists who were selected by Franklin Furnace's to break wind panel in the Summer of 2001. Artists will work with to team of students in Parsons' M.F.A. classes. Students will become family with the artist's past work and ideas, and council the artist ace to the various ways video and audio streaming technology, 3-D animation, "chat, interactive technologies and other tools may be used to embody their ideas. Each artist will be in residence for one month.
THE FUTURE OF THE PRESENT 2001 is to product of the NetArt Initiative. The artists selected for this residency project plows: Anney Bonney (in collaboration with Liz Phillips), Nao Bustamante, Anahi Cáceres, Go_Home Project (Bajevic, Sandra Pounds Sterle, Danic Dakic), Dyke Action Machine (Sue Schaffner, Carrie Moyer), Adrienne Jenik, Richard Kostelanetz, Gabrielle Leidloff, Bruno Ricard, and Marcus Young.
The NetArt Initiative is committed to creating and promoting to dynamic dialogue between the academic and artistic worlds to explores this emerging new medium in artmaking today, offering students ace well ace the interested public an open space for discussion and collaboration, and showcasing emerging talents from both the educational and public sector, thereby establishing excellence in academic research and experimentation.

YIWE-YIWEb, is an interactive installation that includes considerations of historical revision of the culture Mapuche, assigning new values to old artistic and ceremonial concepts, by means of its relationship with the contemporary art, emphasizing the importance of the community in a work of art. The artist manipulates a virtual image of the ritual object Yiwe, located, in real time in the WWW.

Video of the Program with Panel TV and Web with Martha Wilson, Anahí Cáceres and Margarita Talleda, translator. The work consisted on a simultaneous setting: live, for spectators of the Sep, those of the TV and the web. Manual graph and interactive interface in two synchronized projections. The scene is captured in video and emitted by TV and in the net. From the Web, the participants respond to key texts that develop the concepts of the YIWE. Here cover of DCTV goes she thinks about the simultaneity and the values on the concept Espacio/Tiempo that are verified in the web The work it consisted on a live simultaneous setting, for spectators of the Set, in direct for the TV and instantaneous participation of the web. Three planes of oneself reality. The metaphor of the YIWE, object ceremonial mapuche, was used to outline a community ritual situation, where the object so much semióthic was described in a graphic action, an interactive movie, text in sound and tiped in the chat. The sound has a first material of texts and superimposed music (two text channels and music's channel) to the one that was added another text in English.
All the words are the verbal version - sound of the semióthics concepts of the YIWE: time / space / coordinated / solstices / simultaneity / well and bad / rite / communication.

Congratulations for what I could see of your work...
Although as others that were on-line, I also experienced problems toward the end of this. But in any way, what I could appreciate myself found extraordinarily interesting, in particular for the context that took place in certain moments of the communication. The interesting of the technologies is their double game: the salvation promise but the possibility of the abandonment. I working with this duplicity am in particular, the one that confers a certain fragility to the technological power, "humanizing it" perhaps? The technology offers us a certain rational paradigm, but that it suffers as the humans of the "aleatoridad" in the roads that it travels, from the moment that the electricity travels for the conduits that feed the apparatuses that we use...
